How to Calculate Cubic Measurements and Chargeable Weights

Based on the box in the diagram, to calculate how many cubic metres the steps are as follows;

These measurements are in cm and need to be converted into metres, this is done by dividing the cm by 100. 28 ÷ 100 = 0.28 m

Once you have converted all your dimensions into metres, then we multiply them together as such. Height x Width x Breadth
= 0.28 x 0.42 x 0.28 = 0.033 Cubic metres.

Now you need to calculate the chargeable weight. 1cubic metre=250 Kg
So now you multiply cubic metres by 250
0.033 X 250 = 8.25 Kg

Now you have to work out what weighs more, the weight based on the cubic measurement, or the actual weight of the box. If the actual weight of the box was 5 kg, you would use the cubic weight. If the box weighed more than the cubic weight i.e. 9 Kg, you would use that weight.
